Our March program will consist of experts leading topic-specific discussions at four roundtables. The table expert will provide some initial information and details regarding the subject matter and then facilitate a discussion and answer session for approximately 20 minutes. Each group will rotate to another table every 20 minutes. Please come with your questions or send them in advance so our experts can be ready for some good discussion and networking. Below are the table experts, the topic(s) for their table, and a brief bio for each of them.

Topics and Presenter Bios:

Susen Trail, CIH (OSHA Recordkeeping Table)

Susen brings a passion for teaching, a world class curiosity, and a deep sense of ethics to her practice in Occupational Health. Starting out with OSHA Consultation at Colorado State University followed by working in Occupational Health enforcement for Wisconsin Public Sector employers.  She founded and runs an onsite business, Practical Safety and Health Solutions and a software business, Simple Safety Coach.  Her areas of expertise include identifying sources and controls for employee exposures to chemicals, bioaerosols, noise, and ergonomics, while making OSHA standards comprehensible to the those who must meet them.

Shawn Hau, CSP, ARM (Workers Compensation and Incident Investigation Table)

Shawn is a Senior Loss Control Consultant at United Heartland, a leading workers compensation insurance carrier. He’s worked in the workers compensation field for almost 20 years and has been a member of the United Heartland team for close to 10 years. He earned his ASP designation in 2002, CSP designation in 2006, and currently serves as the Vice President of the ASSP Nicolet chapter.

 

Erik Osby, MPH, CIH (Hearing Conservation, IH Sampling, Respiratory Protection Table)

Erik is the Staff EHS Specialist – Industrial Hygiene and Safety at Kohler Co., where he has been employed 29 years.  Previously, he worked for eight years at Bethlehem Steel Corporation in Indiana and four years at Union Carbide Corporation in West Virginia.  Erik is a certified industrial hygienist and a certified asbestos inspector for the State of Wisconsin.  His areas of expertise include industrial hygiene monitoring, confined space entry, lead and silica compliance, asbestos abatement, hearing conservation, respiratory protection, heat illness prevention, radiation protection, compliance audits, flammable liquids safety, etc.

 

Chad Kaster, (Private Passenger Vehicle Fleet Safety Table)

Chad is a Loss Control Representative at Acuity Insurance.  He’s worked in the “Fleet” industry for over 20 years and has worked in Loss Control for the past 5 years and in industry for 18 years as a HR/Safety Manager.  He earned his Masters degree at UW Green Bay in 2002 and has served  on the ASSP Board since 1998.
